2009's Top-Selling Manga in Japan, by Series

The following chart covers sales from November 17, 2008 to November 22, 2009. No new manga volume of Naoki Urasawa's 20th Century Boys was released in 2009. However over 2.6 million more copies of the suspense manga were still sold on the strength of the ongoing movie trilogy.

Similarly, sales of Riko Miyagi's Mei-chan no Shitsuji manga jumped thanks to the 2009 live-action television drama series. A week after the drama's January premiere, the first seven volumes of the manga entered the weekly top-30 sales chart and almost doubled their sales to date — even though the first volume was released back in November of 2006.

New Code Geass Project's Launch Revealed

Bandai's mobile phone website m-pub.channel.or.jp is hosting a graphic that reads as follows:

New Code Geass Project Launch Green-Lit!

Wait for more info in 2010!!

The image adds that this project represents a "rebirth" and that Geass will take a new step starting today. The message is signed with the name, "ZERO."

In the January 2009 issue of Gakken's Animedia magazine, the Sunrise anime studio indicated the possibility of more plans for its Code Geass science-fiction franchise. Sunrise created and animated the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion television anime series and its R2 sequel. Sunrise did not indicate the format that any hypothetical future plans might take. The Adult Swim television programming block ran Bandai Entertainment's adaptation of the R2 sequel in North America.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Chourantou ((涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱 Suzumiya Haruhi no)

A 3D doujin game featuring the characters from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu from souvenir circ (see screenshots).

Format: ISO / non-install / ~200MB when unpacked / Japanese (No English translation!)

Gameplay:
The objective is simple, defeat your enemy. No ring outs, you have to defeat all. Incase there are 4 enemies, then you have to defeat all 4 of them. There can be 6 characters on screen at one time. You'll control 1 character, whereas the rest is controlled by the computer.

you can download the game at LINK

need to open it with winRAR or 7zip.Then burn it on to a CD or use daemon tools to play game.

Tomoyo Fighter

In line with our goal to share everything we find that is awesome, we have Tomoyo Fighter: ~It's an Exciting Life~ - Perfect Edition, a doujin beat-em-up game by chinchillasoft!

Totally discovered this by accident when looking for more stuff related to Tomoyo After, since I couldn't get enough of that gray-haired beauty. It's your typical move-through-the-stage-and-beat-everybod y-up game, but involves your favorite characters from CLANNAD as well as some other interesting characters. Even Hard Gay, Nanoha, Suigintou (from Rozen Maiden), Hatsune Miku, and Ai Enma (from Jigoku Shoujo) make their appearance!

Once you start playing post some screenshots, I didn't really have time to post any good ones.

This game works perfectly on XP, but only if your regional settings have been set to Japanese. That being said there are two fixes if you cannot get the game to work on Windows:

Regional Settings
To set your computers regional settings to Japanese, go to the "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel and, under the "Advanced" tab, set the "Language for non-Unicode programs" to Japanese.

Microsoft AppLocale
If, however, you don't want to change the language setting, the alternative would be to use AppLocale, which you can download here. After installing it, run AppLocale, and run the game through Applocale in Japanese.

Included in the game package we have translated the controls menu for you:

You can set your own controls to play with. Just click one of the control options and press they key you want to use. And the controls are not limited to just the keyboard, you can hook up a joystick or game controller if you have them. Once you have the title screen up, you're ready to play!

Translation Drop Down Menu Options

If you selection the Options Menu on the title screen, these are the english options you are able to adjust.

Game Difficulty: Set the game difficult from Easy, Normal, and Hard.
Damage dealt from Player 1 to Player 2: Pretty self-explanatory.
Damage dealt from Player 2 to Player 1: Again, pretty self-explanatory.
Music Volume
Sound Effects Volume

And finally in our effort to bring you everything you need, cheat codes! These allow you to play as NPCs (bosses etc.) So far chinchillasoft has unveiled three. When the game starts, enter the cheat code in the cheat codes box (under "File" and "チートコード") and when the area changes, so will your character!

Play as Ai Enma - flg(10,46);
Play as Hatsune Miku - flg(10,51);
Play as Tomoyo 2 - flg(10,3);

Our users have discovered a couple more playable characters via cheat codes:

Play as After Tomoyo - flg(10,4); Thanks quicksilver_zx!
Play as Nanoha - flg(10,79); Thanks quicksilver_zx!
Play as Mamimokkori - flg(10,83); Thanks quicksilver_zx!
Play as Supoo (Final Boss) - flg(10,10); Thanks Archeid!

And here are a plethora of download links we have provided to get the game:

These links contain the original game + patch, so everything you need is here.

Full Metal Sister Marilu

Many liken this game to the better known arcade game Metal Slug.
It is fairly similar in parts (besides sharing the 'metal' part in their names) but is an extreemly fun game never the less.

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Full Game Walkthrough 2part 1

F.E.A.R. two fear full original game edited first 10 min hq maxed dx10 high detail graphics pc walkthrough part best quality

F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin Full Game Walkthrough 1

The image of a pasty-skinned, greasy-haired young girl has become an iconic image in horror films like The Ring, and the original F.E.A.R. introduced a similar figure with great success. Of course, that game gave its ghostly visions a chilling context, drawing you into the unnerving story of a paranormal prodigy named Alma and the horrific suffering to which she was subjected. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin returns to this fertile universe, but rather than scrutinize even darker reaches of the soul, it merely skims the surface, offering up a series of eerie visions without delivering a good mystery to bind them together. The good news for shooter fans is that the bullet-blasting core of the experience is sound, propelling you forward with enough intensity to keep the single-player campaign engaging. Most of what's here has been done better before, but the unspectacular elements have been stitched into an enjoyably moody first-person shooter that relies on rock-solid mechanics rather than true inspiration.

Duke Nukem Forever Gameplay Footage Leaked

Just not long ago the artists of 3D realms revealed some awesome screenshots and art work that they’ve done for Duke Nukem Forever. Additionally, there’s now a leaked gameplay video and it looks like it would’ve been quite awesome. Again, its quite unfortunate to see Duke go like this, maybe they should considering selling the game to another developer to finish up or let the public create the ultimate Duke Nukem.

If the video goes down, here are some alternate links.

Keanu Reeves Leads as Spike in Cowboy Bebop Movie

Distinguished actor Keanu Reeves will play the role of Spike Spiegel in Twentieth Century Fox’s upcoming cinematic adaptation of the classic series “Cowboy Bebop”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Reeves’ involvement in the project became known during last summer, but this report stands as the first confirmation through official channels of his taking on the lead role of memorable space cowboy Spike.

Reeves has expressed considerable interest in the anime series, and is reported to be quite the fan of the show.

Questioned about the project last December, Reeves had the following to say:

“Oh yeah, cool. We’re trying to do that.”

The question of whether or not he is the right man for the role of one of recent anime’s most popular male characters is likely to be heard with some frequency from here on out, as the project now seems to be picking up steam in its development…

Sales numbers for BD anime releases in 2008 have finally become available, and are presented here. The figures reveal a strikingly good performance for anime featuring large robots.

Unlike DVD sales, BD sales numbers remain difficult to ascertain in Japan, so the sales ranking is informative as to what releases are dominating sales on the next video format of the future…

Notes
This chart includes sales from July 07 - December 15, 2008.

34,742- マクロスF 1 / Macross F 1
27,137- マクロスF 2 / Macross F 2
25,479 -マクロスF 3 / Macross F 3
22,731- マクロスF 4 / Macross F 4
19,134 -コードギアス R2 Vol 1 / Code Geass R2 Vol 1
16,014 -コードギアス R2 Vol 2 / Code Geass R2 Vol 2
14,986- コードギアス R2 Vol 3 / Code Geass R2 Vol 3
13,520 -コードギアス R2 Vol 4 / Code Geass R2 Vol 4
13,346- ルパン三世 カリオストロの城 / Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro
9,162-時をかける少女 / Toki o Kakeru Shoujo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time)
8,216- 機動戦士ガンダム00 1 / Mobile Suit Gundam 00 1
7,872 -イノセンス アブソリュート・エディション / Innocence: Absolute Edition
6,294 -コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ Vol 01 / Code Geass Vol 1
6,021 -機動戦士ガンダム00 2 / Mobile Suit Gundam 00 2
5,303- コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ Vol 02 / Code Geass Vol 2
5,179 -機動戦士ガンダム00 2 / Mobile Suit Gundam 00 3
4,734 -機動戦士ガンダム00 2 / Mobile Suit Gundam 00 4
4,734 -コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ Vol 03 / Code Geass Vol 3

-----------------------

What is most obvious here is just how much Macross F and Code Geass R2 (especially Macross) dominated BD sales during the latter months of 2008…

The time period for the information collected is actually less than half of the year, but because BD is still in the process of supplanting the DVD (meaning many people are still switching over to BD players from DVD) and that 2 huge titles (Macross and Geass) both went on sale in August, the top 8 BD releases for this time period are also the best selling 8 BD releases for all of 2008.

Some new BD versions of older titles also made it onto the chart, such as the Ghost in the Shell movie, Innocence, Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo and the old classic Lupin movie, The Castle of Cagliostro (which is definitely a must-see for those who haven’t had the pleasure).

Gundam 00 did not do nearly as well as Macross or Geass (despite the current Gundam series trouncing Geass R2 in TV ratings), a large part of which can be attributed to the BD version of the show going on sale several months after the DVD release (which debuted in January), most likely resulting in DVD sales consuming a fair share of what otherwise would have been BD purchases.

What better to help you loosen up during those stressful times in the restroom then a cheerful/nude anime girl?

While the above image is sadly shopped, this sort of thing could prove useful in preventing men from getting lost.

If anything, it’s at least rather less discouraging then what the bathroom actually looks like:

It seems the only major confirmed Haruhi title, “Haruhi-chan”, has not even begun production, leading many to doubt whether a 2009 release is likely.

The news comes by way of a radio interview with the staff of Ga-rei Zero (at about 40:00): “We’re still not started on Haruhi-chan”.

Much fuss has been made over the supposed announcement of the full second series of the main title, but this latest news, although from a separate production company, hardly suggests the Haruhi marketers take the business of actually releasing the anime they announce seriously…

That said, a 2009 release should still be possible, but the earliness of the announcement if a later 2009 release is planned is rather questionable. Evidently, it is felt that it is best to keep fans in a state of permanent suspense.

Given the very low credibility now attached to Haruhi-related marketing announcements, fans are left doubting that the 2nd season will be delivered at all…

Schoolboy Sex Lessons Get Lady Teacher Sacked

A lady teacher (24) has been fired after it became apparent she was giving extracurricular education of a very intimate kind to one of her students, a second year middle schooler (14).

The prefectural board of education reports that the lady teacher apparently took the boy to her apartment and similar during June and July, where the pair became most intimate.

The teacher has this to say: “I was giving him advice about his school life, and then we exchanged mail addresses and became good friends. I did an inexcusable thing to both the pupil and his parents.”

We do not hear how their relationship came to the attention of authorities; the speculation is that the boy might of bragged about his liaisons.

Nor do we hear why she was not arrested; presumably police and others were too busy imagining themselves in the boy’s shoes…
